How we plan a family trip

We break up the long drives, and timings fit around naps and meals, as on all our private tours. A family of four splits the car between four and pays less per person than a couple. The hard part is distance: getting to the desert from Marrakech in fewer than 3 or 4 days means long stages, and we don't recommend it with young children. Tell us the children's ages through the contact page.

Frequently asked questions: Family tours

Is it a good idea to go to the desert with young children?

Yes, as long as the journey is at a relaxed pace. We recommend splitting the trip from Marrakech over at least 3 or 4 days to avoid long stages. The camel ride can be short and superior camps are more comfortable for families.

What documents do children need to travel to Morocco?

They normally need their own valid passport. If they are travelling with only one parent or with other adults, an authorisation may be required. The rules depend on nationality; always check with official sources before you travel.

Is there accommodation with a pool?

Yes. In Marrakech, the Dades Valley, Merzouga and on the coast there are hotels and riads with pools. On family tours we give them priority, especially from April to October.

Can't find the right trip?

Tell us your dates, how many people are travelling and what you'd like to see. Within 24 hours we'll send you a route and a price.
