End-of-year and study trips

Student trips to Morocco

We organise end-of-year, study and university trips to Morocco for groups of 15 to 50 people: transport, accommodation, Spanish-speaking guides and the night in the Merzouga desert.

Offers for student groups

These conditions apply to groups from schools, sixth-form colleges and universities. We confirm them in writing in the quote.

Teachers

Free place for the accompanying adult

For every 15 paying students, one teacher or group leader travels free: transport, accommodation and meals included.

Early booking

5 % off when you book 90 days ahead

If you confirm the group three months in advance, we take 5 % off the price per student.

Low season

Special price from November to February

Outside Christmas, hotels and camps lower their prices and we pass that on to the group. It's cold in the desert at night, but walking during the day is easy.

Payment

Deposit and payment in instalments

You book with a deposit and pay the rest in two instalments before departure, so the school or the families can collect the money gradually.

Group departures to the desert

The 5-day student trip leaves Marrakech every day for 250 € per person. For a small group or a shorter trip, the other two departures also reach the Merzouga dunes and spend the night at a camp.

Five Days to the Sahara by Shared Minibus from Marrakech

We pick you up at your Marrakech riad and over five days you travel to the Dades, the Todra and Erg Chebbi, with a hotel and a desert tent in Merzouga and a night in Ouarzazate on the way back.

What a study trip to Morocco looks like

The route we're asked for most starts in Marrakech, crosses the Atlas over the Tizi n'Tichka pass, stops at the kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou and reaches the Merzouga desert in two days. There the group rides dromedaries up into the dunes and sleeps in a camp. The return goes via Fez or back through Marrakech, depending on where the flight comes in.

For school groups we recommend six or seven days. With fewer, the trip turns into long hours on the coach: from Marrakech to Merzouga it's about nine hours of driving split over two days.

We travel by minibus or coach with a driver and a Spanish-speaking tour escort for the whole route. In the medinas of Marrakech and Fez we add an official local guide, because with a large group it's easy to get lost.

Accommodation is in hotels and riads with triple and quadruple rooms for students and single or double rooms for teachers. Menus are agreed before departure, and we let each hotel know about the group's allergies and diets.

If minors are travelling without their parents, check well in advance what authorisation your country requires for them to leave with the school. Each student needs their own valid passport.

Questions about student trips

How many students does the group need?

We work with groups from 15 students, which is the number at which the free teacher place applies. For smaller groups we suggest the group departures to the desert or a private trip by van, which also works out at a good price per person.

Is Morocco safe for an end-of-year trip?

The routes we do with students are the same ones thousands of groups follow every year. The tour escort stays with the group for the whole trip, transfers are in a private vehicle and in the medinas we go with a local guide. Before departure we give you a contact number available 24 hours a day.

What does the price per student include?

Normally transport with a driver, accommodation, half board, the night at the desert camp, the dromedary ride, a Spanish-speaking tour escort and local guides in Marrakech and Fez. It doesn't include flights, travel insurance or drinks. We set everything out in the quote.

Can families pay separately?

Yes. We can issue the quote per student and accept payment in instalments. Usually the school or agency pays the deposit centrally and then each family pays its share before the deadline.

When is the best time for a student trip?

March, April and May have the best temperatures for the desert and the cities. October and November also work well. In summer the heat in Merzouga and Marrakech is too much for a group, and at Easter prices go up.
